BASICS: Korean skincare
Routine
Koreans are gods and goddesses when it comes to skincare routines and products and nothing absolutely nothing can change my mind. They have a strict beauty standard which include being pale and skinny. Now why pale, you ask? No, it's not because of Westernization. This beauty standard has been around for centuries long before the West discovered the East.
Back then the aristocrats used to be inside their houses and learn, and rarely allowed the sun rays to hit their faces, always covering their faces when they go outside. So now you have your answer.....
PALE SKIN = ROYALTY
Lets get to the routine now, shall we?
Eye makeup remover
The area around the eyes are the most delicate and sensitive skin of the face. removing the makeup around the eyes would need a special formula if you don't want to be aggressive with an ordinary makeup remover.
Double-Cleanse
This is the step which K-Beauty is so famous for. First they use an oil based cleanser to dissolve makeup and grime and the second foam cleanser dissolves the impurities.
Exfoliate
This step is not to be done every day. Maybe once or twice a week. It helps to dissolve dead skin cells. Koreans usually use exfoliating (AHA) pads.
Tone
This step helps to further remove the left over residue, tightens the pores and for pH balance after all that stripping of your face.
Essence Treatment
This is where it may sound weird to you, but Koreans use Snail Essence to smooth their skin. Yes, such a thing exists. It is incredible how good snail essence is for your skin.
Serums
Koreans then use face serums to further boost and brighten your skin.
Sheet Masks
Koreans are best when it comes to sheet masks. It is, after all, what gives them their famous glass-skin glow. They usually use it weekly.
Eye cream
I have already stated that your eyes need special attention when it comes to skin care. Eye creams are great for doing just that.
Moisturizer
Koreans use hydrating/boosting face packs for overnight.
Sun Block
If you don't use sun block, you choose death. That's how it is for Koreans. Their beauty standards include being pale and so majority of them pursuing those Beauty standards use a LOT sun block.
